Bipartisan Immigration Reform

The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) published a full-page advertisement in Roll Call, a newspaper widely read by politicians and staffers on Capitol Hill on May 13. The ad was signed by 13 senior evangelical leaders, calling for bipartisan action this year to overhaul the nation's broken immigration system.

The NAE initiative seeks to build on growing momentum among evangelicals in support of immigration reform since the passage of state legislation in Arizona last month. The Roll Call advertisement emphasizes key provisions contained in the NAE's resolution on immigration reform passed last October.

An Evangelical Call for Bipartisan Immigration Reform

Our national immigration laws have created a moral, economic and political crisis in America.

Initiatives to remedy this crisis have led to polarization and name calling in which opponents have misrepresented each others' positions as open borders and amnesty versus deportation of millions. This false choice has led to an unacceptable political stalemate.
